Resolving the Void, 2025
The installation began with absence. Oversized, industrial appliances had once occupied the kitchen, and when they were replaced by standard forms, a void remained—awkward gaps, misshapen cavities, and a geometry that no longer belonged. The cabinetry, originally conceived around these abnormal dimensions, now fractured the continuity of the room. It was a space defined not by what was present, but by what was missing.
The intervention was not to disguise these irregularities, but to resolve them through precise, intentional craftsmanship. Custom cabinetry was constructed to inhabit each void with seamless proportion, restoring balance where imbalance had reigned. Executed in a matte black finish, the pieces achieve a quiet sophistication—absorbing light, sharpening edges, and commanding presence without intrusion.
