Complete Remodel, 2024

This installation began with a seventy-five-year-old structure that could no longer be called a home. Time and neglect had reduced it to a shell unfit for habitation, where each wall, each floor, each system had failed its intended purpose. The concept was not simply to restore, but to deconstruct entirely and rebuild to modern standards—an act of architectural rebirth. Every partition, every length of wire and pipe, every panel of subfloor, and even portions of the exterior envelope were removed in their entirety, allowing the project to emerge not as a repair but as a re-creation.

Within this new framework, the centerpiece is a kitchen whose presence rivals those found only in multi-million-dollar residences. Custom cabinetry—conceived as both sculpture and utility—anchors the space. These millwork forms balance precision engineering with aesthetic restraint, creating a tactile experience that extends beyond function. The kitchen does not merely serve; it elevates, transforming daily rituals into curated acts of living.

In essence, the home is not a survivor of its former disrepair, but a composition born anew. The installation stands as proof that perfection is not the preservation of the past, but the total embrace of possibility when nothing of the former structure remains but the ground upon which it rests.
